I left Matsue, my hometown, almost 30 years ago, when saltwater fishing with lures was rare and practitioners of it were few (I didn’t see any other fishermen using lures on the seashore except me). The fishing has changed in many ways since then. Equipment made remarkable progress, and now there are many people casting heavy lures into the sea, which was regarded as a kind of foolish experiment when I was here in my teens.

A lot of nice spots for lure fishing have been discovered too, but I don’t know where to go except a few familiar places such as Etomo Harbor. So I bought two books in the “Sanin Fishing Spot Guidebook” series, a comprehensive guide to fishing spots in the Sanin Region. I am so swamped with my jobs that I can’t go fishing for some time. Instead, I look into the books. Hopefully I will try a new spot next time and show you some photos of fresh views.
（今では、ルアー釣りに適した多くの釣り場が開拓されましたが、私は、恵曇港のような馴染みのある場所を除き、どこへ行ってよいのか分かりません。そこで『山陰の釣り場総覧』というシリーズのガイドブックを２つ買いました。ここしばらく、ずっと仕事に追われているため、なかなか釣りには行けません。代わりに、この本を眺めています。できれば次回は、どこか新しい場所に行き、新鮮な眺めの写真を皆さんにお見せできればと思います。）
