Some specialists say that one of the best fishing seasons at Lake Shinji is already
over. The lake still holds many Japanese sea bass, but now they are not chasing konosirus punctatus, a relatively bigger baitfish. When
Japanese sea bass chase this fish, they also aggressively bite big lures. Now
that most of konosirus punctatus are dead or gone
(I am not sure), Japanese sea bass start chasing or doing something else (not
sure again). So I have not caught any fish for a few weeks at Lake Shinji, but
it is always fun to get out after working hard and cast lures to the vast expanse of the lake. It is also a good
exercise because my rod is long and most of my lures are absurdly
heavy.
