After finishing
the previous post about my outing to Ohtoko-bana (No. 164), I made a quick recovery from fatigue and took a walk to Lake Shinji this evening. Now I try to go fishing to the lake whenever I am free, although I am not
sure if I will report all of the outings in this blog. I caught no
fish this evening with the American method that I had
mentioned in one of my earlier posts (No. 163). However, I was far from
disappointed, because I had a talk with a fisherman whom I had often seen at
the shore of the lake since I came back to Matsue but somehow I didn’t have a
chance to talk to. I found there was a misunderstanding
between he and I, which was due to my ignorance and had prevented us from
talking to each other. Now the misunderstanding is resolved. Today I didn’t
catch any fish at either Ohtoko-bana or Lake Shinji, but today is one of the
days I feel fishing is a really great human activity.
（大床鼻への釣行に関する前回の投稿（No. 164）を書き終えた後、疲労から急速に回復した私は、今夕、宍道湖まで歩きました。私は今、時間がある時にはなるべく宍道湖で釣るようにしているのです（その全ての釣行を、このブログで報告するかどうかは分からないのですが）。今夕は、以前の投稿（No. 163）で紹介したアメリカの釣法で何も釣れませんでしたが、私は全くがっかりしませんでした。なぜなら、松江に帰って以来、湖岸でしばしばお見かけしていたものの、どういうわけか話をする機会の持てなかった釣り人と、ついに話せたからです。この男性と私の間には、私の無知に起因するちょっとした誤解があり、そのせいで私たちは話ができなかったことが分かりました。今、その誤解は解けました。今日の私は、大床鼻でも、そして宍道湖でも、何も釣れませんでした。しかし今日という日は、釣りというのは本当に素晴らしい人間の営みだと思える、そんな一日でした。）
