My new fishing cleats have arrived, and now I can go to fishing spots with slippery rocks. Taking advantage of short open space in my work schedule, I drove to Owashi area this afternoon. There was a strong wind blowing from the east. As I had done three weeks before, I started the run-and-gun style fishing at Mizushiri, the fishing spot that lies in the west of the peninsula, whose tips is Susumi-hana. There were patches of sarashi (white churning water) around the peninsula. The rocks along the shore were wet and slippery due to the waves, but my footing was secured thanks to the new cleats. I carefully walked, and sometimes climbed, toward Susumi-hana while making only a few casts at one place. At Susumi-hana, the tip of the peninsula, I briefly wondered whether I should stop the run-and-gun style fishing and stay there until sunset because the sarashi around it looked so promising. I probably made about 20 casts there, and then started walking again toward Maruiwa, the spot in the east of peninsula. I felt big Japanese sea bass would hit my lure anytime before I reached Maruiwa, but nothing happened.
（新しい釣り用スパイクが届いたので、滑りやすい岩のある釣り場にも行けるようになりました。仕事のスケジュールに短い空きができたのを利用し、午後、大芦地区まで行ってみました。強い風が東から吹いています。３週間前と同じように、須々海鼻を先端とする半島の西側に位置する釣り場、水尻からラン＆ガン方式で釣り始めました。半島の周囲にはサラシ（かき混ぜられた白い水）ができています。岸沿いの岩は波のせいで濡れ、滑りやすくなっていましたが、新しいスパイクのおかげで私の足場はしっかりとしています。一か所でほんの数キャストだけしながら、私は慎重に歩いて、時にはよじ登って、須々海鼻に向かいました。半島の先端である須々海鼻で私は、ラン＆ガン方式はもう中止し、日没までここで粘ろうかと、ちょっと悩みました。とても期待が持てそうなサラシだったのです。私はそこでだいたい20回くらいルアーを投げてから、半島の東側にある釣り場、丸岩に向かって、また歩き始めました。丸岩にたどり着くまでの間、良い型のスズキが、今にも私のルアーに襲いかかってきそうな気配でしたが、何も起きませんでした。）
