It was so warm today that I almost believed the spring came earlier than usual. Of course I was wrong. The sea remained as quiet as it had been in the harsh winter days. This afternoon I started fishing at Saruwatarijima in Owashi. I did not see any baitfish around the small island on the west end of Susumi Bay. Then, I drove to Nanbo, one of the most convenient breakwater in Etomo Harbor. There were a few fishermen here and there, but no one seemed to catch fish. I stayed there until it got dark. I did not feel cold at all. With the warm weather, I did not lose my concentration until the end. Although no fish, I felt good.
（今日はとても暖かかったので、例年より早く春が到来したのだと、あやうく信じてしまいそうでした。もちろん私の勘違いです。海は、厳しい冬の日にそうであったのと同様、今日も静かなままでした。午後、私は、大芦の猿渡島で釣りを開始しました。須々海湾の西端に位置するその小島の周辺に、ベイトフィッシュ（大きな魚の餌となる小魚）の姿はありませんでした。続いて私は、恵曇港でいちばん便利な防波堤の一つ、南防へ移動しました。釣人が数人、あちこちにいましたが、誰にも魚は釣れていないようでした。私は暗くなるまで釣り場に留まりました。まったく寒さは感じません。暖かな天気のおかげで、私の集中力は最後まで切れませんでした。魚は釣れなくとも、良い気分でした。）
